A rapid device can provide an initial result at collection, subject to the selected product’s instructions and intended use. A non-negative screen may call for laboratory confirmation and qualified review before the organization takes action. Discuss specimen handling, chain of custody, laboratory arrangements and who communicates the confirmed result.
